These dissolved solids conduct electricity. EC is measured in milli-siemens per centimeter (ms/cm). EC is measurements of the strength of the nutrient solution.

EC-1383 is equipped Platinum Electrode and not some cheap electrode used by other conductivity meters to lower their cost. Platinum electrodes enhance efficiency for excellent conductivity and durability.
